DIY Inspiration for 2015

Quote wall décor is all the rage these days. I’d be willing to bet you could walk into any big box store and find a wall hanging that says Live Laugh Love or Keep Calm and Carry On. Although I’m over the clichéd sayings we’ve seen a million times (as I’m sure you all are), I do love finding a meaningful quote and using it in a project. Sometimes I’m able to find one already done for me and ready to buy (Home Goods and Etsy are great sources!) but often the theme I’m looking for just hasn’t made it to mainstream yet. Thankfully the internet is full of smart, creative people who have come up with different ways to create your own! Start with your favorite inspirational words and choose one of these methods to make your own, personalized art:

This tutorial for a wood wall plaque from Makes and Takes blog just paints one line, but it shows you how to paint text on wood.

This is also a good starting point to help paint your quote from That’s My Letter:

I love this stenciled pallet from Saved By Love Creations:

This cool Mod Podge collage of letters cut from maps adhered onto a canvas is from Snappy Casual Blog:

And for those of you who have a Cameo, Silhouette, or other machine that cuts out vinyl letters, this is for you, from Sugar Bee Crafts:

Now all you have to do is decide on the perfect quote!
